Housing for degrowth foregrounds the qualitative aspects of living degrowth. Living in ecologically sustainable ways with light ecological footprints thrives through 'convivial' living and by sharing spaces, goods, infrastructure and caring responsibilities. Self-building, cohousing, and ecovillages generally face building and planning policy barriers, and financial challenges. Yet connected neighbourhoods directly satisfying basic needs, especially in food, seems the way to go to achieve more equitable and sustainable futures.
