Each year, there is a summit for oil and gas business leaders exploring or drilling in NZ. Each year people in the climate movement let them, the government and the population know that the time for fossil fuels is over. We should be working on phase-out plans at this point.

This year the meeting is in Wellington, and activists are preparing to go there to be part of a blockade, intending to hamper attendees entering the conference venue. The organisers haven’t yet released information about the venue, but this will be communicated to everyone registered for the conference as soon as it’s available. The lead organization in this is Oil Free Wellington. Greenpeace is assisting, and many other climate organisations are involved.

So, be there if you can. And register at the site below.

Preparatory Day

On Sunday March 25^th, there is a preparatory day, 10-3pm, at the Dowse Gallery, Lower Hutt. Information is below. This will provide both information, training and practical advice about the action on the following Tuesday.

SuperGrans

Accommodation

We have arranged accommodation for our friends traveling from around Aotearoa for Sunday, Monday and Tuesday night. If you have already told us that you need accommodation, you will still be covered.

The venue

PEPANZ haven’t publicly released the venue yet, as they are scared of protestors like us standing up to them.

However, they haven’t been able to keep it quite secret enough! We’ll be publicising the venue location very soon, but we can tell you it’s in central Wellington.
